The Fundamentals

So, yeah. Dehydration is still a thing. Nutritional choices is today’s thing. I’ve been far too permissive of indulgences and, um, less than stellar food options. I’m heavy. And I’m feeling it. And so beginning July 1st, the halfway point of 2016 (how the hell did that happen?!), I’m making a mid-year resolution to redouble my efforts on the fundamentals of running, of life. Eating a little healthier. Smaller portions, maybe grazing. Drinking more water and (gulp) perhaps a LITTLE less Diet Coke. Focusing on cleaning up a few things personal, emotional, and physical that have been naggingly left to seed.

That’s the intent anyway. Resolutions are all well and good, intentions are all well and good, but action? That’s a bit harder to pull off.

First though — before getting really serious this time — I’m off on one final big adventure.  The Big 5 Marathon adventure to be exact:
