A Change of Scenery, A Change of Longitude

For the last few years, as part of mom and my Hanna Family Christmas, we’ve got that Oahu shores and done the Merrie Mile and Honolulu Marathon.  They just opened up registration for this year’s events and are once again they are offering an enticingly low fee for early bird registrants.

As much fun as we have in Hawaii, and as much as we love cruising on a catamaran and feasting on island foodstuffs, it’s still ironic that this offer should come today.  It is after all Groundhog Day and thus that may explain why there’s a “been there, done that, bought the t-shirt” vibe wafting off the 1s and 0s of this digital invitation to return.

As a result, I find myself wondering, “Why not see something new, do something different?”  Holiday traditions are made to be broken and recast. So I’m going to say “too-da-loo” to Honolu… lu.  That is, until we meet again.

Thus, instead of looking at AirBNBs along Waikiki, I’m on the hunt for something new and different for December 2018.

I wonder when the Punxsutawney Marathon might be?  It’s not today, that much I know.  The Groundhog Day Marathon is weirdly enough in Michigan — a very cold Michigan.

Hmmm….
