Visa via Visa (Or Maybe It Was Via Mastercard…)

In order to run the Da Nang Marathon in August, I needed to sort out a visa to Vietnam.

I could have sent in my passport with a SASE, along with a money order for $80, to the consulate in Washington, DC.

Or, after a quick google search, I could submit the paperwork electronically via a third-party service for $65 on a credit card and I pick up my visa when I land in Ho Chi Minh City.

I did a bit of research and www.vietnam-evisa.org seemed legit. I therefore went with the cheaper option.

But now having received this email they seem a bit… surprised? that I was able to successfully submit my info for a visa.

There’s something about the three exclamation points that reads to me like, “Holy schnikes! I can’t believe this worked; it almost never works! You totally got a visa!”

This should be fine.  It’s not like there’s ever been problems with fraud on the internet before, right?  Totally fine.  Nothing to see here.

Sigh.
