A Double Header at Dodgers Stadium

Apparently, there were 6000 of us or so across the three events this morning at Dodgers Stadium. It started with a 10k at 7 AM, then a 5k at 9 AM, and then a kids fun run at 10. I had signed up for the double header of the 10k and 5k.  It was something like 2300 for the 10K, 3200 for the 5K and then the rest with the kids (you do the math… but I warn you there were a few of us doubling down so who knows how many INDIVIDUALS there were onsite).

I’m spending the day afterwards trying to backup the photos from my iPhone which has ceased camera operations courtesy of iOS 10. Supposedly if I reset the thing to factory settings and then restore my settings it should heal itself. I’m not entirely convinced, but I’ll do what I can.

The selfie camera still worked so I snapped some photos with it… and I had my now annoyingly ugly pocket point and shoot camera. It’s a Canon which I normally like but this one has an ungodly slow shutter lag and inexplicable “selective focus” that renders many photos a miniature effect blur.

The point of this is that I’ll upload photos at a later date in a more proper summation but in the meantime, here’s the times I clocked after getting in from Utah late last night:

For the 10K I came in 48th overall with a chip time of 48:05

An hour after finishing the first race, I ran the 5K and posted a 22:57.  That was good enough for 63rd overall.

Along the way, I grabbed a few pics with some Dodgers Legends, wandered the walkway around the Dodger field, and snapped a few photos of the exorbitant concession prices.  Those will be posted in due time.

For now, though, I need to snatch some shut-eye from the jaws of a second wind… or third… or fourth… or whatever wind I find myself facing tonight.
