It’s New Year’s Eve.
Let me first say, I think all of the best stories in life don’t just “start”… they “begin.”
I thought I had a pretty great beginning with Sarah (with an “H” as it turns out). I had help from various people across the globe, people I knew, people I didn’t. And ultimately it sounded like two separate circles of “friends of friends of friends of friends” felt they could get the video to her.
It was quite a story to that point.
As of today, the 31st of December, I haven’t heard from Sarah directly.
I did however hear through the virtual grapevine a message whispered down the lane in a game of e-mail telephone tag.
The “friend of a friend of a friend of a friend” said they thought she was “currently taken.” While I had hoped that meant she was just REALLY into Liam Neeson movies (as this would not be a deal breaker for me… it would in fact be a major deal incentive!), I think it may be time to face facts.
I had started this whole thing hoping to see where the story might go.
Turns out it was a short story.
And so, having registered a more befitting email address, I thought I’d post this summary of how the story ends.
Who knows, though. Maybe in a few years the tale will get a reboot. That seems to be the trend in narratives these days.
Until such time though, the story ends with the year itself… auld lang syne and all that.
Gotta run… so happy new year everybody.
