I don’t know. Fly casual.

Hmmm…

So I booked my flight to go run and then wander the Dune Sea of Tunisia , past potentially the Great Pit of Carkoon, and then out to visit the moisture farming homestead of Luke Skywalker. There’s a $17 cheaper fare on another website so we’ll see if Orbitz will honor their low price guarantee, match the price and kick me back a $50 credit for a future hotel booking.

Usually they balk at the screen grabs I send because they can’t tell it’s for one person or if the tickets match up exactly… even though they are for the exact same dates, on the exact same airlines and on the exact same flights. And if the price was for, let’s say two people, the price differential would be HUGE.  So, yeah, even if it doesn’t explicitly say “1 passenger”, um, it is.

I’ve never had one of these price matches within 24 hours fail to work out… it just takes a bit of work to explain to them that the things do in fact match. Like pointing out that the dates, times, airlines, and flight numbers are EXACTLY THE SAME. I find that even when the screengrab shows all of that I still sometimes have to point out this fact with arrows and stickers and increasingly frustrated emails. Maybe there’ll be a holiday miracle and I won’t have to turn all exasperated… but I don’t hold out a lot of hope.

On the plus side, well, gosh… looks like if there’s a bright center of the universe, I’m headed for the planet it’s farthest from…

…except possibly for Jaaku. I hear that’s pretty much nowhere.
