The Not-So-Obligatory Boston Marathon Post

In 2012 I was lucky enough to run the Boston Marathon on behalf of Children’s Hospital. My partner was Christian Boyles who was awesome then and has only grown more amazing in the ensuing years.

I had wonderful support from all across the land, including folks who came out to cheer me on during one of the hottest days the Marathon had ever seen.

The next year, an almost perfect day would be shattered by tragedy.

But Boston and the world would not be terrorized. We stand as one. We are all Boston Strong.  The marathon, and life, came back, bigger and brighter than ever.

I haven’t been able to qualify yet for Boston but I hope one day to return to run. Until then, I’ll cheer the runners, their families, the spectators and city who make Boston such a powerful beacon of inspiration. And not just as the oldest marathon in the USA, but as a shining light of good in the face of evil.

Run well, my friends. Keep doing good, no matter what. That’s how we all win the day.
