Just another in a series of mistakes that stretches way into the past and sadly far into the future

I shouldn’t have come. As the plane descended into the Seattle Tacoma Airport, the change in air pressure wreaked havoc on my head cold congested sinuses. It felt not like my brain was being drawn and quartered; it felt like it was being drawn and 360ed on multiple axes.

As I begin the 4.5 hour drive to Pendleton, OR, I pass the natural wonders of the Pacific Northwest and I… shrug. I’m burned out on travel and I feel lousy.

Despite prepayment of this trip, I’m thinking I should’ve just eaten the costs and checked into a clinic, a fat farm to lose some of this depressing weight, dry out my sinuses, rebuild my immune system.

Instead I carry on down the road, a zombie shuffling on some mindless quest. I’ve often mentioned to people that while I may not always love running, I always love having run.

This trip may put that to the ultimate test.
