Muscle Madness … because it’s mad at me. See what I did there?

I think I pulled a muscle in my leg. I could tell somewhere in the Star Wars Half Marathon on Sunday that the back of my leg felt… off. Because I always seem to be making Star Wars references… even when I’m NOT running a Star Wars themed race… I guess you could say I sensed a disturbance in the force.

Since then, the pain has lingered in the back of the left leg. Not all the time but sometimes in walking there’s a sharp stabbing sensation, like a shark has clamped down on the muscle and is thrashing me back and forth (there — a JAWS reference rather than Star Wars).

I haven’t gone for a run at all this week, thinking I should rest it up and let it recover. I’ve got the Pro Football Hall of Fame Marathon out in Canton, OH. I signed up for it because they offered me a discount code to register for $26.20. Hard to resist, right? And everything from flights to hotels are already paid for, uno-refundable. And Sunday is still 4 days away… I should be fine, right?

Right?

Not that it matters, really. We all know I’ll run anyway.

Curse my stubborn and foolish ways. What is at times a strength is also a major weakness.

The uncomplicated life can get complicated so very quickly.
