Boston Marathon Memories:
In 2012, The Boston Marathon was the culmination of my quest to run the 50 states.
It was a primary selling point for fundraising to help support my bib sponsor, Boston Children’s Hospital.
It was also a celebration point for family and friends — Meg customized cowbells to give to people, both known to me and random strangers:
On top of that, there were signs. That year it was 80 degrees+ at the start and only got hotter as the day wore on. More than usual, crowd support was needed to power through the heat. And to have my family and friends out there braving the sweltering temps made a huge difference.
