Paradise Left

I spent the morning on a recovery run, a last bit of mileage on Oahu’s shores. Running in the moonlight along the surf isn’t a bad way to start a trip back home… but it does offer a definite portrait of paradise lost to reality.  This crappy iPhone shot is barely able to convey a bit of the magic of the moon over the water, though I don’t think even the grestart camera could do justice to seeing it in person:

A final turnaround at the holiday lights afforded a deserted shot of the “Mele Kalikimaka” blocks… and as I sit here waiting for my shuttle to the Honolulu Airport, it seems a befitting way to close out this entry and this trip.
