I have always been astonished at how quickly runDisney events have sold out, despite the ever increasing prices that go up and up and up every year. And yet we may finally have hit a price too far — this year, the Super Heroes Half Marathon in Anaheim is still available… the only event to sell out is the Captain America 5K, but the 10K, Half, and Infinity Gauntlet Challenge are all open for registration… albeit at huge, huge entry fees.
This event began life a few years back as the Avengers Half Marathon Weekend but runDisney recently rebranded it as the Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend. The Avengers logo is still floating around the edges… and the main characters to see are Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow… Avengers all, albeit after the Civil War, perhaps not so much. Maybe that’s why they are altering the title.

For my money, I’ve decided to branch out into super villainy… and to break with Marvel Universe. As I cobble together my costume, throwing both readily available a few eBay purchases into the pot, Batman’s arch nemesis the Penguin floats to the surface.
The $1 shipped from China cigarette holder is already out in CA for the event but I just got the $6.09 purple top hat. Mom mentioned she thought it might get hot… I told her it was a half-marathon and I’d waddle through.
So without any further ado, here’s my proof of concept Penguin running outfit:
