You’d think I’d have been audited by Mazars USA…

Huh.

So here’s a funny story. Not a “ha ha” funny story. More of a “well, that’s strange” funny story.

This weekend I’m due to run the Ventura Marathon. I signed up for it awhile back because it was convenient and I checked my spreadsheet and I hadn’t ever run it before.

But here’s the thing — as I was reading over the race day logistics, it all felt very… vu deja’y, ya know? Very familiar. From parking in a county fairgrounds parking pasture to a bus ride up a mountain and a gentle rolling downhill course that all felt like… something I’d done before.

Indeed, in doing a search on runkevinrun.com, it turns out I *had* run Ventura before… way back in 2017. And it’s my infamous “only race I’ve ever dropped out of… and yet… dropped back in because the sag wagon/med transport would’ve taken longer than my just hobbling to the finish.”

So my marathon count has been off for all these years… and my grand scheme to run events so I could hit Boston for marathon 475 is now a scheme to run the 126th Boston Marathon as my 476th marathon.

Like I said, not very funny… just strange. Eventually I’ll have to go back through the ol’ “Running Tally” page of this website and fix this… unless I accept that the 2017 race was technically a DNF because I dropped out… except, ya know, I dropped back in… so… ugh.

My head hurts.

Feet too.

Huh.
