Four of us got to go to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and celebrate the race weekend, all rockin’ our bling/swag. My friend Kerry was a Dopey Challenge Finisher. Her friend Deena was a 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon finisher, which I think is technically a Smarty Challenge — skipping that last day was pure genius. And Mom was an Official Sleepy Challenge Finisher, albeit more of a Half-Sleepy because she came out to cheer me on for the 5K and 10K.
Kerry had booked us into a Star Wars Intergalactic Celebration Dessert Party, one of those hard ticket “add-on”s at the Parks I never think to check. Tasty treats that I told myself was okay to cheat with given the races… though even with that perhaps my third bowl of Kitchen Sink Bread Pudding might have been a BIT munch [sic].
We also had a FastPass meet and greet with the First Order BigWig Kylo Ren. Some of our party took issue with his rise to power but I’m savvy enough to tell the StormTroopers that there’s a reason it’s called the First Order — they’re number 1!
We also got a cordoned off VIP section for the fireworks at park’s close… although I think we may have been almost TOO close for the projection imagery on the Mann Chinese Theater. But the fireworks and lasers were pyrotechnic delights.
Great seeing you, Kerry and Deena. And thanks Mom for once again supporting my running habit. I suppose I’ll be back here again in 2020. Once perfect, strive to remain. I’d hate to give anyone reason to suspect I wasn’t Dopey.
