September 17, 2018 – Berlin Blues

I’ve got the Berlin Blues. Post run endorphins have worn off fast, indicative of my running addiction problem. It takes more and more to get that high and it’s getting harder and harder to get my fix.

On top of that, it’s the end of summer camp vibe as the tour with Travelling Fit draws to a close. We had a leaving do last night with open bar and said our good byes and traded contact details promising ourselves we’d keep in touch. Life has a way of happening though so we can only hope we do; as j often find with the TF tours, there are some great people.

How is it possible that I outlasted the Aussies in drinking?

So with the Movenpick Hotel in my rear view mirror, I’ve marched South to my next AirBNB. The outside looked a little “sketch” as the kids may say, but my host and the place are just fine. I was hoping he’d have a washer to launder my gear but looks like there is a laundromat nearby; that’s on tomorrow’s agenda, as is a longer post reflecting on travels so far and yet to come.

Meanwhile, I’m off to make my own cheese. I had planned a snarky comment when I saw it listed in AirBNB Experiences… but then I thought, “ya know what? I want to make my own cheese!”  I’m not saying they’ll issue me a certificate as a fromager… but I would assume they will.

More on that later.  But before I crash for the night, I’ll leave you with this attempt to turn my Berlin Blues frown upside down:
