Paying The Price, Weighing the Costs

Still ticked off about the finish line at Oklahoma City.

I uploaded the photos on the weekend’s running posts, so the revised pages are “live.”  I never know if I should more explicitly demarcate the revised pages or if it’s just sufficient to try and keep the things correct.  I’m not a newspaper after all.  There’s no editorial board… well, there IS an editorial board and it’s a board of one… sometimes a bored of one… but I digress.

The next item on the agenda is really old business — I’m struggling with my scales again.  I’m a good 15 pounds over my target weight.  Clearly I’ve had a few too many indulgences of late.  I’m going to try and be extra vigilant… and that’s going to be even more difficult as the final item of old business is my ankle.  It’s still… twitchy?  Tweaky?  Twiki?

Given that, and given that next week is a multi-day event series of races bookended by Sunday runs in Jersey and Delaware, I’m going to try and NOT run this week.  Emphasis on try.  Already today guilt over the scale and late night snacking post-OKC finish line fiasco (I’m really not going to let that go), I wound up lacing up for a 10 mile jog.  It wasn’t a run… it was a jog.  Honest.  I was slow and leisurely and I didn’t even remotely resolve my long night’s journey into day’s caloric excesses.  But I had to try and do something.

Tomorrow.  Tomorrow I’ll try and do better.  On all fronts.
