The Trifecta?

NASA called this morning’s ultra-rare combo of a blue moon, lunar eclipse blood moon, and supermoon a “lunar trifecta.” I happened to be up and before I went for a slow morning run, I tried to snap a shot or two out my backyard. As is often the case with my photographic efforts, and perhaps even moreso with my recent running efforts, the results were not-that-stellar. But at least I got the gist of the moment.

Since the moon set behind what was I think Paris Hilton’s old place… or maybe it’s Elisha “Kim Bauer” Cuthbert’s… whoever owns the place on the hilltop, the moon set behind it so I couldn’t even attempt to capture the un-eclipse… the de-clipse?… the moon uncovered?

I’ve made a lot of mistakes in prepping for my next race that’s set for Sunday. I don’t think taking that one day off was one of them… but certainly the nutritional quagmire I find myself sinking into cannot be good for me. Too much junk, not enough good stuff, and lethargic training all-round. That might best be called the “run Kevin run trifecta.”

Would that it were an ephemeral phenomenon.
