Never Gets Old… Even Though I Do…

It’s always a bit of a thrill for me to see my name up on marathonguide.com in the results write-up:

It’s perhaps a silly thing to get excited about… like when I was excited to get my name in the phone book, only to realize that just meant telemarketers had an easier time ringing me up.  And don’t be fooled by that Do Not Call list; I’ve had dozens of calls just in the past week about variously: 1) nothing wrong with my credit card but an outstanding opportunity, 2) MS Tech Support calling because of viruses on my computer and if I just opened a connection the operator could fix it for me over the internet, and 3) a great deal on solar panels.

And yet it’s always nice to see your name in print, be it virtual or tangible.

It’s been just under a year but it still kills me to see a 4 and a 0 after my name for my age.  And soon that age-ometer will click over to a new digit.

Yuck.  And it’s a good four years until a new age bracket. I wonder if I could Pirates of Penzance it and just ignore such things until 2022.
