MarathonFoto sent me an email about their official photos from the Cleveland Marathon this weekend. They must have taken my wave off at the finish line seriously as there are no pics from there.
Nonetheless, here’s the watermarked shots they snapped… and one closeup that captures the experience quite well I thought.
I’m reminded of that famous “Simpsons” episode wherein Ralph Wiggum gets a Valentine’s Day card from Lisa and falls in love with her… only to have his heart broken when she reveals a hard truth. This clip says it all:
While the above race photos do NOT show the exact moment I was broken by the race, they do capture the general heartache… and backache… and leg-ache… and just general mental ache that I found myself dealing with over the course of 26.2 miles.
Needless to say, I will NOT be paying for the digital downloads.
