It’s a Small World After All…

It’s a small world after all…

I’m sitting in the OneWorld club at the Tom Bradley International Airport (TBIT for short). An email message from Shellie asks if I’m in LAX as a mutual friend thinks she sees Kevin the club. Sure enough Mikki and I are both headed to Japan — she’s off to a wedding in Tokyo and I’m off to a marathon in Ktoto before tackling the Tokyo Marathon next weekend.

The OneWorld lounge is like another dimension. We are able to get seat assignments and in fact the CSR bumps us up to Business Class as a “hey, sorry this day has sucked so far, maybe this will help” gesture. A lounge representative named Yolanda also turns the day around by constantly bringing mimosas. Things are assuredly looking up.

A few snafus in the plane, all down to me apparently mucking up my Mom’s iPad, but thankfully I’m plied with enough alcohol so that I don’t give a flying fig.

Courtesy of Mari and a comp’d upgrade to business class, the 12 hour flight to Kansai isn’t too bad. It isn’t too bad at all. Again, the alcohol helps.
