SOCAL River Marathon – March 4, 2022

It was nice. Some hiccups… where they told us to park wound up being a mile or so from the bib pickup and bus loading at the start and the finish line at the end… and me being too cheap to pay $15 to park at the beach I was another half mile or so from there in a residential area I like to call the Bermuda Cut Through… because it was on Bermuda St… but, ya know, nice people. Nice runners. Annoying to share the bike path with bikers as ever… and because logistics required an 8 AM start the drive back was a bit nightmarish at noon on a Saturday… but again, a nice little race.

I ran with the female overall winner for about 15 miles or so before she took off and I never saw her again… I don’t often like chatting with folks during a race but she and a few other marathoners made those opening miles go much faster it seemed so no complaints from me. The head wind down by the beach was a bit rough too but, shrug, nice enough. I should probably write more but I’m behind on a project for work so… here’s some pics…
