November 16, 2019 – Day Of The Dead

You ever been caught in a bear trap? Or had an alligator chomp down on your leg before taking you into a death roll?

Yeah, me neither.

But I imagine it feels like the sharp, stabbing pain in my left calf muscle.

I don’t know if I pulled something or if these podiatrist insoles I’m using to treat the plantar fasciitis at the ball of my foor has altered my gait and my calf is therefore severely overcompensating. But I do know it really, really hurts.

On the plus side, the ball of my foot is better… so at least the pain is migratory. I suppose that’s also what I’d say after gnawing off my own foot to escape the bear trap.

Point is, with a still lingering head cold and a debilitating pain with each step, I’m opting for a lazy day of not-much-of-anything-at-all. I feel a little guilty to deadhead tgis Saturday abroad, but I’m worried how the run will go tomorrow. I toyed with the idea of a short run this afternoon to see how it’d feel at a running pace… but then figured why poke the bear before absolutely necessary?

Besides, there are worse places to sit around doing nothing…
