I know I’m going to regret this later. I know I’m going to wish I had scribbled down as much as I could to ensure I captured the details of the day. But I’m too tired from the journey here and the minimal nap I grabbed at Clamonic House before the pickup this AM.
But here are a couple of “official” shots from the Elephant Reserve and the White Water Rafting experiences hosted by Bali Adventure Tours. I paid 600,000 Indonesian Rupiah for two USB sticks rather than buying two photo sheets for 270,000 rupiah. So I splurged — I couldn’t make any decisions on picking a photo from them to get printed and I figured with my luck I’d get the photos soaked along the way. The USB stick seemed worth $22.50 apiece.
This is Alex and Noki from Sumatra. They’ve been together for 20 years, the last 16 of which here in Bali.

My tour group was 5 people strong… and the white water rafts held typically 4 passengers and a captain guide. I joined a family of three from Germany — Debbie, Christian and their son Ben. I asked our guide’s name three or four times and then felt self-conscious I still didn’t understand what he said in reply. This is true whether or not English is one’s first, third, or sixth language. I *think* he said it was Martin but that may be way, way off.
